Maharashtra State Biodiversity Board (MSBB)
The Government of Maharashtra constituted the Maharashtra State Biodiversity Board undersection 22 (1) of the Biological Diversity Act 2002, on 2nd January 2012. Biological Diversity Act, 2002 is being implemented at three levels.

- ● Local level - Biodiversity Management Committee (BMC)

Maharashtra Gene Bank (MGB) Project
The Government of Maharashtra has principally approved the Maharashtra Gene Bank Project (MGB) vide G.R. No. WLP-1221/Case No.-324/F-1, dated 25/05/2022 for the “Conservation of Biological / Genetic resources and their propagation at local level, for the benefit and welfare of the community ”.The MGB Project is working on the following 7 major themes focusing on Ex situ & In situ conservation-

Maharashtra State Biodiversity Board (MSBB).
Mobile Biodiversity Interpretation Centre (MBIC)
Following the 7th theme of MGB Project i.e., Communication, Education & Public Awareness (CEPA), MSBB/ MGB launched this unique and innovative project.The MBICaims to bridge the knowledge gap between conservation efforts and communities, in all sectors including rural and remote areas. The project serves as a catalyst for enhancing community participation in biodiversity conservation and environmental stewardship. By bringing educational resources directly to people, it fosters greater understanding and appreciation of the local ecosystem, as well as encourages community involvement in itsprotection.

• No damage, eating, or littering in truck..
(ट्रकमध्ये अन्न, कचरा टाकणे व नुकसान करू नका.)
• Children must be with adults.
